ActivHeal Academy is an initiative created by ActivHeal, with the purpose of making wound care education easily accessible to healthcare professionals.  Wound care is important for a significant number of patients, as 4.5% of the population are living with a wound at any one time, and the cost of treating wounds is estimated to be £5.3 billion. This figure is comparable to that of managing obesity or cancer. With better education, ActivHeal believes that they could reduce this cost by creating a free resource for health care professionals to access. Appreciating the workload of medical staff, we wanted to create easily digestible content across print and digital mediums. ActivHeal Academy needed to be a platform used on the go, working around the busy working day of a hospital. Visual and practical resources were created in the form of bitesized handbooks and an online learning platform.  It was important to grow awareness of the online education platform, as the courses contributed to individual’s CPD. Working with sales staff, we promoted the platform at events, online via social media and through marketing collateral. In order to extend our reach and continue to growth within the sector, we increased our engagement through social media quizzes, competitions and awards.  After the initial launch, feedback results indicated that the platform is a valued resource amongst healthcare professionals.
